Zolita Embraces Her Duality on HELL'S BELLES

The forthcoming album explores the tension between softness and rebellion, with new single "HARDCORE" offering the first glimpse into its darker world.

For more than a decade, Zolita has been building one of pop's most immersive creative universes.

The Los Angeles-based singer, songwriter, filmmaker, and creative director has carved out a distinctive space through cinematic storytelling, fearless songwriting, and an unwavering commitment to artistic vision. Across every release, Zolita has approached music as something larger than a collection of songs. Each era arrives with its own world, aesthetic language, and emotional landscape, creating an experience that feels both deeply personal and unmistakably her own.

Now, she's preparing to unveil her most ambitious chapter yet.

Enter HELL'S BELLES

Arriving August 28, HELL'S BELLES is a genre-bending concept album built around two opposing identities. The project explores the tension between softness and hedonism, romance and rebellion, vulnerability and confidence, creating a record that refuses to choose between the contradictions that define us.

Rather than separating those opposing forces, Zolita embraces them.

The album is divided into two distinct sonic worlds: BELLES and HELL. One leans into romance, tenderness, and femininity, while the other embraces temptation, power, and instinct. Together, they create a portrait of an artist fully inhabiting every side of herself.

It's a concept that feels particularly fitting for Zolita, whose career has consistently explored themes of identity, transformation, fantasy, and self-discovery through both music and visual storytelling.

"HARDCORE" Opens a New Door

Released alongside the album announcement, new single "HARDCORE" serves as the introduction to the darker half of HELL'S BELLES.

While lead single and title track "Hell's Belles" established the central duality running throughout the project, "HARDCORE" pushes that narrative further. Driven by gritty electronic textures, instinctive pop hooks, and an undeniable sense of urgency, the track captures what Zolita describes as the moment the album flips, when Belle transforms into her more impulsive alter ego.

Trading romance for desire and restraint for temptation, "HARDCORE" feels bold, theatrical, and unapologetically self-assured. Sonically, it expands the universe established by "Hell's Belles" while reinforcing the album's larger themes of transformation and reinvention.

The result is a track that feels both thrilling and intentional, offering listeners a glimpse into the darker emotional territory waiting within the full project.

A Decade of World Building

What continues to separate Zolita from many of her contemporaries is the level of care and creative control she brings to every release.

Over the years, projects such as Immaculate Conception, Sappho, Evil Angel, and Queen of Hearts have showcased an artist equally invested in visual storytelling, narrative construction, and songwriting. Whether directing her own visuals or building expansive creative concepts around each era, Zolita has consistently treated music as an immersive experience.

That dedication has earned recognition from outlets including PAPER, DAZED, V Magazine, and Rolling Stone, while cultivating a devoted audience drawn to both her artistry and authenticity.

Beyond the studio, she's built an impressive live presence as well, selling out venues including Bowery Ballroom and The Troubadour while performing at major festivals such as Governors Ball and Boston Calling. This summer, she'll continue that momentum with an appearance at All Things Go DC.

The Beginning of a New Era

More than anything, HELL'S BELLES feels like the culmination of everything that has made Zolita such a compelling artist while simultaneously opening the door to something entirely new.

At its core, the album is about embracing contradiction. It refuses to choose between softness and strength, vulnerability and power, fantasy and reality. Instead, it celebrates the complexity of existing somewhere between all of those things.

If "HARDCORE" is any indication of what's to come, HELL'S BELLES is shaping up to be one of Zolita's most fully realized and exciting projects to date.

As August 28 approaches, one thing is already clear: Zolita isn't interested in choosing between Belle and Hell.

She's determined to become both.

"HARDCORE" is out now. HELL'S BELLES arrives August 28.
