For Nicole, “magic” isn’t something literal, but rather “something indescribable and otherworldly,” a way of capturing the experience of falling in love in its purest, most unexplainable form. That idea becomes the emotional core of the project — not just a theme, but a lens through which everything else is seen.

Building a World Without Realizing It

Interestingly, the EP didn’t begin as a fully formed concept.

“When I first began writing the songs, I didn’t know it was going to be this EP,” she shared. It wasn’t until later in the process — looking back across what she had created — that a clear throughline began to emerge. Where her first EP leaned into heartbreak and introspection, this body of work naturally shifted toward something more hopeful.

That emotional pivot shaped not only the sound, but the visual world surrounding it — one defined by soft, dreamlike tones and what she describes as “shades of blue.”

That sense of atmosphere is felt immediately across the tracklist.

Songs like “tornado” and “cycles” don’t just exist as standalone moments — they contribute to a larger emotional landscape that feels immersive and fluid. There’s a lightness to the way they unfold, but never at the expense of depth.

While the emotional tone feels effortless, the structure behind it is deeply intentional.

Nicole approached the sequencing with care, allowing the project to subtly tell a story from beginning to end. The opening line of the first track, “LIVING FOR IT ALL,” begins with “let me set the scene,” while the final line of closing track “cycles” lands on “the end.” A full-circle moment that wasn’t planned during the writing process, but revealed itself later — one of those rare instances where everything aligns naturally.

Even the smallest details carry meaning. Each track alternates between all caps and lowercase titles, mirroring the structure of her previous EP so it goes.., creating a quiet continuity between projects.

Within that world, “LIVING FOR IT ALL” stands out as a defining moment.

Described by Nicole as her “late night drive song,” it captures something nostalgic, slightly reckless, and full of possibility. It’s the kind of track that feels like freedom — a snapshot of being fully present in a fleeting moment.

That same openness carries throughout the EP, balancing emotional honesty with a sense of space that allows listeners to step inside and make it their own.

Protecting the Emotion

That balance extends into her creative process as well.

While many of the songs began in her room, written independently and intimately, collaboration came later — but never at the expense of what made them personal. “I try not to let the emotional honesty get lost when I work with a producer,” she explained, emphasizing the importance of working with people who understand and respect her vision.

“It feels so rewarding to finally have the full project out after so many months of planning,” she shared — a sentiment that lingers throughout the EP.
