"Forever as Her Friend is a song I wrote about a friendship that meant a lot to me, one that changed in a way I still don't fully understand. It's a story of holding on to something that once felt permanent, and feeling it slowly come to an end without knowing how to accept it. It's about the longing to be loved, chosen, and kept, and how losing a friend can sometimes hurt more than losing a lover."

It's an honest perspective that feels increasingly rare. Instead of offering easy answers, Resa invites listeners to sit with the complicated emotions that come with change, allowing the song to become deeply personal without ever feeling overly specific.

"I have found and keep discovering my voice by trusting my own intuition. At times I have lost touch with myself by focusing too much on the wrong things, like over-fixating on my career, comparing myself to other trajectories or trusting others' opinions as some sort of truth. But I keep coming back to this strong sense of self and direction, and for each derail, I keep finding my voice stronger and clearer."

"I've introduced 'Forever as Her Friend,' and actually all three songs I've released from the album so far, with the question 'Sentimental summer??' because my music really is that. None of my music will give any high energy boosts, but I think people who like mellow and sad music ironically find a lot of happiness and comfort in this style because it makes us feel less alone in the blue shades."

That idea of finding comfort inside melancholy feels central to everything she creates. Even when her songs explore heartbreak, uncertainty, or loneliness, they never feel hopeless. Instead, they offer companionship.

"I really want people to feel good about themselves and the people around them. I wish for people and myself to remember gratitude, self forgiveness, forgiveness to others, and that we go out in the world with a kind outlook."

"I have tried with this album to dive into more of the styles I like, not being strict with myself about thinking it has to have coherency with the rest of the songs and the sound.
