loveshy Makes Nostalgia Feel Futuristic

There’s something instantly magnetic about loveshy’s world — a place where early-2000s rock nostalgia collides with slick electronic production and a grungy Y2K visual edge. It’s familiar yet forward-thinking, built to feel high-energy, immersive, and just a little bit dangerous.

Rather than positioning loveshy as a direct reflection of himself, the project exists more as a character — a carefully constructed universe that allows for freedom, experimentation, and emotional intensity without being tied to strict autobiography. That balance between intention and emotion is what makes the project feel so compelling.

“I want it to feel futuristic and nostalgic at the same time,” loveshy shares. “The sound is inspired by early 2000s rock, but with an infusion of electronic elements — slick, energetic, and visually rooted in a grungy Y2K aesthetic.”

Production First, Everything Else Second

At the core of loveshy’s creative process is production. Long before lyrics enter the picture, the focus is on building a sonic environment — a vibe strong enough to dictate everything that follows.

“For me, it almost always begins with production,” he explains. “I’ll spend hours creating a vibe before I even consider putting pen to paper. Production is where my background lies, and it’s what makes the project sound truly like me.”

More often than not, the order goes: production, melody, emotion, and finally lyrics. It’s a workflow that prioritizes feeling over explanation — letting the sound carry the emotional weight before words ever do.

Writing From a Character, Not a Diary

While loveshy’s music feels emotionally open, it isn’t always drawn from direct personal experience. Instead, many songs are written through the lens of the loveshy character, allowing space to explore situations and emotions without full transparency.

“I don’t usually write from personal experiences,” he says. “I view loveshy more as a character rather than a reflection of myself.”

That said, there are exceptions — and they’re starting to surface.

“Spineless” and a Shift Toward the Personal

Loveshy’s upcoming single “Spineless” marks a slight pivot. While still rooted in high-energy, rock-leaning production, the track pulls more directly from personal experience — though, as he puts it, without naming names.

“If you’ve ever had a toxic relationship, you’ll get it,” he says. “It’s super high energy, and I’ve kept this one more rocky rather than genre-mashing, so it really stands out.”

The song feels like a natural evolution: familiar in its intensity, but sharper and more focused, hinting at where loveshy may head next as live shows come into view.

Designing the World Around the Music

Visuals aren’t an afterthought for loveshy — they’re integral. With a background as a designer in the music industry, he’s worked on album covers, music videos, and touring visuals for artists like Two Door Cinema Club, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, and Declan McKenna.

That experience now feeds directly into his own project.

“Almost everything you see online is just me with a camera,” he says. “I’m going to random locations, filming and editing myself. It’s very DIY and time-consuming, but I want everything to be the best it can be within my means.”

The result is a cohesive visual language that mirrors the sound: gritty, nostalgic, energetic, and unmistakably loveshy.

Looking Ahead: From Screens to Stages

So far, much of loveshy’s experience has existed online — streams, comments, messages, and engagement through a screen. But that’s about to change.

“I’m really excited to start live shows,” he shares. “It’ll be great to actually meet the people listening to the music and speak to them in real life.”

That excitement is already influencing how new music is written, with an eye toward live dynamics and the possibility of more intimate moments woven into future releases.

The Feeling He’s Chasing

At the heart of everything loveshy creates is a single goal: that rush.

“That feeling that makes you want to hit replay over and over again,” he says. “A rush of dopamine.”

If he feels it in the studio, he knows he’s onto something — and chances are, listeners will feel it too.

With a growing catalog, a bold visual identity, and live shows on the horizon, loveshy is building something that feels both deeply considered and electrifyingly impulsive. And with “Spineless” setting the tone for what’s next, this world is only getting louder.
